Music Ministries
The Chancel Choir of our congregation helps to lead worship from September through May. Mature voices perform a variety of genres of music with accompaniment provided by the pipe organ, piano, handbells, and other instruments. Rehersals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:00 PM during the choir's season. The director for this group is Harold Tarpley. Anyone wishing to praise the Lord with song is invited to join!
Bells of Joy, our three-octave handbell and handchime choir, rehearses from September through May and performs in worship on the third Sunday of each month, and sometimes in between. Sometimes they play with the pipe organ or piano, sometimes alongside the choir, and other times they play by themselves. The ringers have various levels of music ability, but together they make beautiful music for the Lord! Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 5:45-7:00 PM. The handbells are directed by Staci Cunningham. New members are always welcome!
Piano and Organ Duets are a glorious addition to any worship service. With one of our accomplished musicians on our pipe organ and another on our baby grand piano, the worship of our hearts fills the sanctuary through the language of music!
Fourth Sunday Musicians provide the musical accompaniment for our Casual Services. This ensemble is made up of a variety of instruments, including piano, electric keyboard, acoustic guitar, and flute. Other musicians are welcome!
Choir Scholarships are available for up to two Neosho County Community College students per year, who would wish to join the Chancel Choir.
