Youth Ministries
Worship includes a variety of opportunities for our young people to participate.
VBS 2010 is fast approaching. Follow along with Dr. Luke and his sidekick Theo as they embark on a comic caper to research Jesus’ identity for the book Luke is writing. They interview eye witnesses to key moments of Christ’s life for a complete biography starting with his birth and moving to the resurrection.
Ages 5 (by Sept. 1) through grade 5 have VBS July 25-29 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
*Middle and High School auditions for lead roles and behind the scenes assignments will be Sunday, July 11 from 5:00-6:30 p.m.

Worship Bags include book marks for hymnals, and Bibles to help our children prepare to read and sing along. Crayons and paper allow children to give the congregation glimpses of what they observe and learn in worship. Books, activity sheets and Bible cards help the young learn Bible stories.
Acolytes are made up of children in grades 3 through 6. They lead worship by bringing the symbolic Light of Christ into our midst as well as leading us out into the world with that same light as we leave.
Liturgists for worship include children and youth - anyone old enough to read who can be seen from behind the pulpit can help lead worship!
Children's Time in worship is a time to hear Bible stories, learn about faith symbols, or maybe experience the sacraments.
Children's Church is offered for children in Kindergarten and younger following Children's Time in worship. They go to Noah's Nursery and our Rainbow Room for continued Bible stories and related activities.
A Mission Coin Offering is collected by the children every Sunday following Children's Time.
Middle School
The 'ICHTHYS Gang' is a group of middle school students who gather at the church after school on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 PM for Bible study, fellowship, and service projects once a week during the school year and throughout the summer for special activities. 'ICHTHYS is the Greek word for 'fish', and was the secret sign of persecuted early Christians.
High School
The Christian Youth Connection is our youth group for high school students. The group meets on Sunday evenings from 6:00-8:00 P.M. for Bible study, fellowship, and mission projects. They meet in the youth room located on the second floor of the sanctuary building.
Fundraisers throughout the year help to provide financial support for youth participation in retreats, camps, Presbytery and Synod events, and mission trips. Annual fundraisers so far have included the following:
- Artist Alley booth
- Potato and Chili feed for the congregation
- Soup and Salad dinner for the congregation
